County Funding Goes To Gang Prevention

$1 billion goes to increase efforts.

ImageThe Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich to support U.S. Senate Bill 456, the Gang Abatement and Prevention Act of 2007, authorizing more than a $1 billion to increase efforts in identifying, apprehending and prosecuting gang members.

Bouquet Canyon Construction Frustrates Drivers

Nightmarish traffic around road construction near Vasquez Canyon.

ImageMany listeners have been calling in and reporting substantial delays on Bouquet Canyon Road near Vasquez Canyon Road.


This is the result of a Los Angeles County Department of Public Works project that is working to widen and improve the road.


The city of Santa Clarita is not doing this work.

COC Hosts Super Hero-Like Day

The spider people are back!


Last April several students and faculty members were spotted scaling the sides of buildings on the College of the Canyons campus attached to string-like supports.  This is not a common sight at the college campus, but internal reports reveal that these annual web-spinners will return on May 5 this year to reprise the feat.

No, the campus hasn’t entered the world of super-heroes or the super-natural, but there are certainly some different activities going on here.


SCV Shooting Leaves 3 Dead

Image Last night, Sheriff's Deputies responded to an emergency call to the 18000 Block of Annes Circle.

Neighboring residents had forced entry into a home and found three individuals severely injured, victims of gunshot wounds.

When emergency responders arrived, all three people were pronounced dead at the scene.

Safer Water May Be On Horizon

Santa Clara River may soon be up for grants.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion directing the Los Angeles County Flood Control District to establish a regional water management group to prepare and adopt an integrated regional water management plan for the upper Santa Clara River Watershed, announced Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.

Upon completion, Watershed entities may apply for grant funding under Propositions 50 and 84 and establish a framework to secure future funding for related projects.
