    Placerita Slates Community Service Day

    Junior High kids get active in the community.

    Placerita Junior High School will host its third Community Service Day on Wednesday, May 2, from 8:15 until 2:30 p.m.  This event is designed to match students who are interested in fulfilling community service hours with service organizations seeking volunteer participation.

    Juvenile Gang Members Could Be Tracked By GPS

    Senator Runner’s and Senator Dutton’s Legislation Will Help with Gang Suppression Efforts.

    ImageSenator George Runner’s (R-Antelope Valley) and Senator Bob Dutton’s (R-Rancho Cucamonga) legislation to increase the use of GPS monitoring of juvenile gang offenders passed Senate Public Safety Committee on Tuesday.

    I-5/Magic Mountain Update

    The city issued the following update regarding the area’s road work.

    The construction of the new water line by-pass on Magic Mountain Parkway west of The Old Road by Valencia Water is complete. In addition, the construction of two water lines by Castaic Lake Water Agency west of The Old Road on Magic Mountain Parkway is anticipated to be complete by the end of this month.

    Dodgers Fall To Padres 3-2

    In the second game in the three game series, the Dodgers were defeated by the San Diego Padres.The series will conclude tomorrow at 12:30 pm on Your Hometown Station, AM 1220, KHTS!

    The Dodgers Win 6-5

    On April 27th, the Dodgers came back to beat the Padres 6-5.  You can hear the next Dodger game live on your Hometown Station, on April 28th at 6:30pm.

    Power Lines Spark Anger Up Bouquet Canyon

    Alternate plan does more harm than good, say residents.

    As Edison plans on routing power lines down into Santa Clarita, the particular route they take was a hot topic to residents up Bouquet Canyon Road.

     

    Just a few miles past Plum Canyon Road, there live hundreds of residents in a naturally beautiful setting.

     

    When they heard that Edison was looking to bring imposing power line structures into their area, they quickly assembled a response.

     

    Harry Welch Wins Coach Of The Year

    Award comes after State Championship season.

     Harry Welch, the iconic head football coach of the Canyon Cowboys, has been named Coach of the Year by the California Coaches Association (CCA).  The CCA not only includes high school coaches but those from Division 1 college football and the NFL as well.
