    McClintock Speaks Out Against New Bill

    Baby Bonds…

    A “bi-partisan” – pardon me, “post-partisan” – bill was introduced in the State Senate last week as SB 752 by Democrat Darrell Steinberg and Republican Bob Dutton to give $500 to every baby born in California as an “incentive” for the next generation to begin saving from an early age.  The sponsors assure us that it will create a society where all Californians will have the means and incentive to save and invest.

    Filming In Santa Clarita Shoots Way Up

                Santa Clarita Sees Increase in Film Days in February 2007

               

    The City of Santa Clarita’s Film Office reported a dramatic increase in the number of film days last month with 70 days recorded within the City of Santa Clarita.  This represents a 94 percent increase over the number of film days in February 2006, which saw 36 days.

    Kings Lose 4-3

    On Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles Kings lost to the Dallas Stars 4-3 in overtime.  Tune in to KHTS on Monday evening beginning at 7:00pm, when the Kings will take on the Edmonton Oilers LIVE on KHTS.

                The City of Santa Clarita is inviting local teens to interact with and talk to City policymakers and experts on Thursday, March 15, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex Activities Center, located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway.

    Hunger Defense Fund On A Mission

    Local food bank up for piece of $1,000,000.

    The Hunger Defense Fund, a non-profit food bank in Santa Clarita is participating in an effort to raise as much food and monetary donations as they can for March and April.

     

    They do this because the Feinstein Foundation has offered up $1 million to hunger-fighting agencies across the country and developed a challenge to determine just how to split that money up.
