    Supermarket Robber Caught

    One suspect in custody for elderly thefts.

    Widely televised video footage and cooperative investigations have lead to the arrest of one of the individuals suspected of targeting senior citizens for theft as they shopped in the Santa Clarita Valley area.

     

    The two suspects, Mishelle Nishee Burrell, FB/30, and Aesha Deshay Gibson, FB 24, of Lancaster are suspected of distracting elderly victims and stealing their wallets from their purses as they shopped.

    Former CHP Sgt. Facing Assault Charges

    Man accosts jogger, bumps him with car.

    In Valencia, a jogger got more than he bargained for Thursday, when former CHP Sergeant and City Council Candidate Dwight McDonald bumped him with his car.

     

    Allegedly, the bump wasn’t an accident, and a verbal altercation ensued.

     

    The incident happened near the intersection of Hillsboro and Beaumont Street in Valencia.

     

    According to Lieutenant Cambra from the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station, the victim then ran across the street and continued his jog.

    Search is on for a suspect who robbed a home in Canyon Country.

     ImageA burglary suspect was seen leaving a home near La Mesa Jr. High this afternoon. Sheriff’s Deputies responded and canvassed the area after hearing of several sightings.

    Those 60 animals have all been rescued from some form of abuse or slaughter. There’s a turkey whose toes were cut off, a blind cow,  twin horses taken from their mother, and a physically abused donkey.

     

    Prisoner Still At Large

    An inmate escaped from Pitchess Detention Center just before 12:00 yesterday.

     

    ImageHis name is Roberto Alvarez and he is not considered dangerous.

     

    He is a male Hispanic with black hair and brown eyes. He stands 5 foot 10 inches tall, weighs approximately 180 pounds, and was last seen wearing a yellow jump suit.

    Sierra Hwy Bridge Switching Sides

    On Tuesday, March 13, 2007, the traffic pattern at the Sierra Highway Bridge Project over the railroad will change impacting the motoring public.

    Currently, there are two lanes of traffic traveling north on the northbound structure and two lanes of traffic traveling south on the southbound structure.  The new configuration will be two lanes traveling northbound and two lanes traveling southbound on the combined southbound structure and newly poured center structure.
