    Champions Classic To Be Back Next Year

    Next year is certain, after that still pending.

    VALENCIA, CA – The 2008 AT&T Champions Classic will be held at Valencia Country Club it was announced today by Brian Fitzgerald, executive director of the tournament, and Jim Fitzsimmons, general manager of Valencia Country Club.

    Fire Chews 15 Acres

    Fire grows quickly, but doused by Fire Department.

    ImageA fire broke out this afternoon in Acton off of the 14 freeway and Santiago Road.

     

    The fire was a result of an injury car accident that sent flames into the grass on the side of the freeway.  

     

    A trailer park in the vicinity was at one point threatened, however was not damaged. 

    Kings Lose 4-3

    On Thursday night, the Los Angeles Kings lost to the Chicago Black Hawks 4-3 in a shootout.  You can hear the next Kings game, Saturday at 7:00pm, when they will take on the Columbus Blue Jackets on KHTS.

    COC Adds Popular Computer Class

    Basic computer skills in demand.

    Due to the popularity of the College of the Canyons Extension class “Computers and You,” another section has been opened for older adults with little or no computer experience who wish to learn basic computer skills.

    “Computers and You” is a hands-on class that teaches students how to use a mouse to conduct simple Internet searches, how to use email, and will address consumer awareness and basic safety. The textbook needed for the class costs $24. 30 and can be purchased at the COC bookstore.

    Stunts Abound At Local Fundraiser

     Stuntmen team up with the Fire Department to fight children’s cancer.

    In Agua Dulce this Saturday, some of Hollywood’s top stuntmen will be putting on a show as members of the Los Angeles County Fire Department display some of their most thrilling vehicles.

     

    St. Baldricks Foundation will be the beneficiary of the fundraiser, which will see people shaving their heads for sponsorships.

     

    St. Baldricks is a favorite among first responders, with several other departments participating in their own programs.

    School responsible for a part of Santa Clarita’s success.

    Domestic Violence Center Bowl-A-Thon

                Players and Sponsors Sought for Local Fundraiser.

                 In an effort to raise funds for the Domestic Violence Center of the Santa Clarita Valley, the organization will host a Bowl-a-Thon at Valencia Lanes, located at 23700 Lyons Avenue in Santa Clarita on Sunday, April 15, 2007 between 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
