Galaxy Take On Crew For Charity

Die-hard fans, local residents fill out audience for Major League Soccer match.

ImageBeautiful weather was a fine backdrop for Santa Clarita’s first Major League Soccer game. The Columbus Crew took on the Los Angeles Galaxy in a pre season game, where proceeds went to the Michael Hoefflin Foundation.

 

Runner Fights For Veterans' Education

Runner wants in-state tuition fees for veterans.  Senator George Runner (R-Antelope Valley) introduced legislation that will allow all veterans returning from active duty, regardless of their state residency, to pay in-state tuition at one of California’s public colleges or universities. 

 

Heads Get Shaved, Money Gets Raised

Fundraiser brings many to Agua Dulce.

ImageSaturday afternoon, Agua Dulce was the place to be, as the Los Angeles Fire Department hosted a fundraiser for the St. Baldricks Foundation.

 

The main event was a series of ongoing head shavings, where teams of people garnered sponsorships to take all their hair off. The money goes to find a cure for children’s cancer.

 

Kings Defeat the Ducks 5-3

The Los Angeles Kings defeated the Ducks by the score of 5-3!Catch the next Kings game as they take on the Dallas Stars on Wednesday, March 21 at 7 pm.  All the Kings hockey action can be caught on the Santa Clarita's Hometown Station, AM 1220!

The Los Angeles Kings defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets in a high scoring affair, 5-3!

Catch the next Kings game Sunday, March 18th at 4 pm, as the Kings take on the Ducks.  This game, as well as all hockey action can only be caught on Santa Clarita's Hometown Station, AM 1220, KHTS!

Email Spreads False Rape Story

The following is a statement from the Santa Clarita Sheriff's station. 

Recently, e-mails have been circulating throughout the Santa Clarita Valley area disseminating inaccurate information about an alleged violent assault and rape occurring in the Saugus area of Santa Clarita. 

 

Although it is true that detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station were investigating  suspicious circumstances around an alleged assault that occurred in Saugus on Sunday, March 11, 2007, the details described in the mails are not accurate.   

 

Ground Broken On University Center

Center will offer advanced degrees on COC campus.

KHTS had Hart School District Superintendent Jaime Castellanos on the air to speak about overcrowding at West Ranch High School.

The 400 Castaic students that come out of middle school each year have been going to West Ranch since it was built. Now, due to overcrowding issues, the next two years worth of students will go to Valencia High (where they were sent before West Ranch was built).
