    Dodgers Fall In Freeway Opener

    The Los Angeles Dodgers fell to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 6-1 on Thursday night, in the first of a three game pre-season exhibition series.  The Dodgers and Angels square off in game two, Friday night beginning at 7:00pm, a game which can be heard LIVE on AM1220 KHTS.

    Kings Lose 4-2

    On Thursday night, the LA Kings lost to the Vancouver Canucks 4-2.  You can hear the next Kings game, Sunday at 2:30pm, when they will take on the San Jose Sharks LIVE on KHTS.

    Four Acre Fire Reported Along 126

    At approximately 1:30pm Thursday, a fire was reported in the area of Chiquita Canyon and Highway 126. 

    The fire was described by Stephanie English, Community Service Representative for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, as being four to five acres, with no structures being threatened.  The fire was extinguished quickly.  The cause of the fire was believed to be downed power lines.

    Joint Powers Authority Meets Today at 2 PM

    Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich and San Bernardino County Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt are scheduled to hold their first Joint Powers Authority (JPA) Meeting today at 2 PM. The meeting will take place at the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration in Los Angeles.

    The official 2007 Man and Woman of the Year will be named at the 40th Annual Recognition Dinner to be held Friday, May 4, 2007, in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Valencia Hotel. The event will pay tribute to the top volunteers in Santa Clarita Valley and to past award recipients. It will benefit a number of charities and will include dinner, a multi-media presentation and the recognition ceremony.
