    Antonovich Lone Dissenter In Power Vote

    Hart Board Meeting Moves To Bigger Place

               Anticipating a large audience of community members, the Governing Board of the William S. Hart Union High School District has moved its Wednesday, Feb. 21, meeting to the Hart Auditorium. Public session begins at 7:30 p.m.

    Poll: Republican's Health Care Plan Preferred

    In a statewide poll on health care, Californians overwhelmingly supported the Senate Republican Health Care Plan known as Cal CARE, which makes health care more affordable and accessible by using tax incentives.

    “Clearly, the Senate Republican Health Care Plan known as Cal CARE addresses issues that Californians really care about – increasing health care accessibility and making health care more affordable through incentives rather than taxes or fees,” said Senate Republican Caucus Chair Senator George Runner (R-Antelope Valley).   

     

    Other Missing Boy Found

    Two boys who went missing from Canyon Country last Wednesday are now both accounted for, after Fresno police notified the family that the 14 year old had been found.

    The two brothers had been missing since Wednesday morning. Victor Kuykendall, 14 and Evon Kuykendall, 10 were last seen walking to school with their 8 year old brother in Santa Clarita.

    The youngest brother did arrive at Leona Cox but Evon and Victor did not. 

    SCV Bank Posts 4th Quarter Gain

    Santa Clara Valley Bank (SCVBank; OTC BB: SCVE.OB) today announced its 2006 fourth quarter and year-end financial results.

    The Bank reported that quarterly revenue was $1,799,679 in the fourth quarter, an increase of 42%, or $535,284, over the $1,264,395 of revenue in the fourth quarter of 2005.  This increase contributed to the Bank’s net income of $117,609, up from $102,189 in the previous quarter, an increase of 15%.

    Kings Win In A Shootout

    The Kings defeated the Ducks in the second straight night of shootouts between the two teams, 4-3 on Sunday night.  Catch the next game as the Kings take on the Vancover Canucks, Thursday, February 22 at 7:00pm on your Hometown Station AM 1220 KHTS.

    Antonovich Has Idea About Castaic High School

     Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich has initiated discussions with representatives from Newhall Land and the William S. Hart Union School District to consider utilizing a portion of a 450-acre parcel on the Castaic Mesa to build a much-needed High School.  

    Newhall To Appoint Two New Principals

    The Governing Board of the Newhall School District will be asked to appoint two new principals at their February 20th meeting.  Candace Fleece will be recommended as principal of Stevenson Ranch Elementary School and Cynthia McCarty will be recommended for the position at Pico Canyon Elementary School.
     

     

    Kings Lose 3-2
