It’s only been a few days since the Big Read kicked off, but it’s already got people reading. Several contests are going on that all center on the Ray Bradbury book Fahrenheit 451.

Today, City leaders and Cemex officials appeared at a press conference together to announce a year long truce between the two. They have battled for years over Cemex’s proposed mine off Soledad Canyon Road that would pull resources out of the ground in epic proportions less than a mile away from residential areas in Santa Clarita.

The Los Angeles Dodgers began hosting their 48th Adult Baseball Camp on Sunday, February 4 and it ends on Saturday, February 10 at Dodgertown, the Dodgers’ Spring Training facility in Vero Beach , FL.

Eighty-two campers from 17 different states will be taking part in this edition of the twice-yearly camp. California tops the list with 44 attendees. Walt Bentson from Cupertino, CA is attending his 37th camp.
