Small Plane Goes Down In Neenoch Area

 A report of a small plane crash in the area surrounding the community of Neenoch came into KHTS AM-1220 at approximately 1:45pm.
The Santa Clarita Sheriff’s department confirmed that a plane had gone down near Route 138 and 290th Street.  The Fire Department was on the scene and attempting to extract the pilot who has been reported as alive but injured.
The area is mountainous and the responding deputies were having a hard time getting to the crash sight.  There is no confirmation on passengers or type of aircraft.

Auto Dealers Association Rescinds Street Name Change Request

The City of Santa Clarita announced today that the Santa Clarita Auto Dealers Association has withdrawn its request to change the street name of Magic Mountain Parkway, east of Interstate 5, and Creekside Road to reflect more auto-related names.

Entering its 18th year in the Los Angeles market, the PGA Tour’s Champions Tour event at Valencia Country Club is altering its name slightly from the AT&T Classic to the AT&T Champions Classic, Brian Fitzgerald, Tournament Chairman announced today.

Hit And Run Suspect Gets Caught Thanks To Witness

On Christmas Eve, a man was eating at the Way Station in downtown Newhall when he heard a crash. When he went outside, he saw that a white Ford Escort had collided with a motorcyclist, and was leaving the scene.

According to Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Department, he jumped in his car and followed the suspect to the corner of

Newhall Ave

and Lyons, where the suspect parked his car and started to walk away.

Former President Gerald Ford Dies

The 38th President of the United States Gerald Ford dies last night. He was 93 years old.

Ford held the title as the longest living president in our nation’s history, and he is being remembered today for leading what the president called a “commonsense” administration.

Ford took office in 1974 after Nixon resigned in the face of scandal. Ford not only held the title of longest living President, but he was also the only un-elected President.

Flags at all federal buildings and other institutions have been ordered to fly at half mast.
