City Transit Service to Santa Monica Beach

A day at the beach can be so relaxing, but sometimes just taking a trip there can be frustrating…until now.

The City of Santa Clarita has partnered with Los Angeles County to bring this summer’s bus service -- Beach Bus…From the Canyons to the Sea and Back Again, from June 21 to September 1, 2006 on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and on Labor Day.

Hart District Lawsuit Resolved

The lawsuit entitled Alabi, et al. v. William S. Hart Union High School District has been resolved.
The plaintiffs stand by the allegations made in the lawsuit, and the District denies that it engaged in any wrongdoing or any violation of law. Nevertheless, in order to avoid the expense and time consumption entailed by protracted litigation, the parties have agreed that resolution at this time was in the best interest of the plaintiffs, students, parents and achievement of the educational goals of the District.

Kings Make New Additions to Coaching Staff

The Los Angeles Kings have named Mike Johnston as Associate Coach, Jamie Kompon as Assistant Coach, Bill Ranford as Goaltending Coach and Nelson Emerson as Video and Player Development Consultant, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi and Kings Head Coach Marc Crawford announced today. Per club policy, terms of the agreements were not announced. Johnston, Kompon, Ranford and Emerson all join Crawford, who was hired by the Kings on May 22, on the Kings coaching staff. 

Kings Announce 2006 Preseason Schedule

The Los Angeles Kings today announced their preseason schedule for the 2006-07 NHL season. The Kings will play six games overall, including two at STAPLES Center -- September 19 versus the San Jose Sharks and September 25 versus the Anaheim Ducks. In addition to the two home games at STAPLES Center, the Kings will also host the Colorado Avalanche in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand on September 23 as part of "Frozen Fury 9."

Power Out to 456 Homes Since Saturday Night

At approximately 6:35pm Saturday, electrical power went out in Canyon View Estates and the surrounding area of Canyon Country, including KHTS.  The outage was due to Canyon View Estates electricians that were working and caused a flashover in a transformer. 

Lane Closures for I-5 Carpool Lane Construction 7/10-7/13

Caltrans will close the following lanes of the Golden State Freeway (I-5), as part of a $41.6-million project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle, (HOV), or carpool lanes, on northbound and southbound I-5 from State Route 118 to State Route 14:  



Golden State Freeway (I-5) Overnight Lane Closures 7/9-7/13

Caltrans will close the following lanes of the northbound Golden State Freeway (I-5) as follows in order to perform pavement repairs.
·     11 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to three lanes of northbound I-5 from Valencia Boulevard to State Route 126

Dodgers Defeat Giants 2-1, Split Series

The Dodgers beat the Giants Sunday afternoon, 3-1. The Dodgers will now have the next three days off for the All-Star Break.
