Bowl-A-Thon to Raise Funds For Students’ Link to Careers

What does bowling have to do with successful student transition from high school to career? In the case of the Valley Industrial Association’s Bowl-A-Thon Night Fever this Saturday (July 22), it could have a marked effect on more than 2,000 local teens.
The Bowl-A-Thon starts at 6 p.m. at Valencia Lanes in Newhall and will including bowling, games, prize drawings, a silent auction and music. Proceeds will help sponsor Connecting to Success, a business-style conference for local high school juniors co-sponsored by the Valley Industrial Association and Junior Achievement.

Summer Concert Kicks Off At Valencia Car Wash

A summer live outdoor concert will be held at Valencia Car Wash, on Sunday July 23, from 6:00PM-8:00PM The free concert will feature the College of the Canyons 21 piece Big Band Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Ms. KC Manjis. The band will perform a variety of musical songs, and will play some classic instrumentals such as Spinning Wheel, Peter Gunn and the Pink Panther. The band and audience will be seated under a canopy to shield them from the summer heat. There will be theater seating for all attendees, and children, adults, and senior citizens are cordially invited to attend.
