“DIVE IN MOVIES” At The Aquatic Center

Saturday, July 29th, the Aquatics Center will hold its final “dive in movie” for the summer. Saturday night’s feature will be “Hoodwinked,” featuring the voices of Anne Hathaway, Glenn Close, and James Belushi. The center opens at 7:15 p.m. for swim and play and the movie will begin at 8:15 p.m. The Aquatics Center allows residents to visit for evening swim and play and wade in the pool as the feature movie runs. This season, the program turn out has been successful with almost 100 guests in attendance each night.

Kings Sign Center Michael Cammarlleri to One-Year Contract

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Kings have re-signed restricted free agent center Michael Cammalleri to a one-year contact, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.  Per club policy, terms of the agreement were not announced.

Learn Spanish in 5 Days at COC

Spanish is the second most common language spoken in the United States after English, and according to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, 32.4 percent of the Californian population is Hispanic. Because speaking Spanish has become more of a necessity than an option for Californians, the Spanish Institute at College of the Canyons is offering a five-day intensive course that will teach basic conversational Spanish for professionals in the teaching, health, business or law enforcement fields.

Local Firefighter Raises Money for Fallen Comrades

Friday, July 28th, 2006 at 2 pm, at Fire Station 126, Fire Chief P. Michael Freeman will present an award to local Fire Captain Hall Stratton for his efforts to raise money for injured and fallen firefighters. Fire Station 126 is located at 26320 Citrus Street in Valencia.

McKeon to Testify on Behalf of Eastern Sierra Rural Heritage Bill
