    Runners Bill to Help Vasquez High School Passes Unanimously

    Bill will provide shelter and recreation for children of Vasquez High School
     
    Sacramento - Today, Assemblywoman Sharon Runner's (R-Antelope Valley) legislation to open an existing gymnasium at Vasquez High School passed the Assembly unanimously. "The students at Vasquez High School have no place to shield themselves from the elements, let alone have basketball practice," Runner said. "This is a unique situation in which we as legislators can take action to help the students of Vasquez High by opening an already existing gym for their use."
     

    The Dodgers lose 9-3

    The Braves beat the Dodgers 9-3. Tune into KHTS on Thursday at 6:30pm when the Dodgers will take on the Philadelphia Phillies.

    Newhall School District Celebrate Distinguished School Awards

    Five schools in the Newhall School District will be celebrating their California Distinguished School status in upcoming days.  Staff, students, and school board members will participate in the ceremonies. Teams of principal, teachers and parents recently attended the statewide Distinguished School celebration in Anaheim where they received their plaques and a special Distinguished School flag. They were greeted by Jack O’Connell, State superintendent of schools.

    The Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves Tuesday, 8-3. They can sweep the series with another win against the Braves Wednesday afternoon at 4pm- a game you can hear live on AM-1220, KHTS!

    Runner's Workers' Compensation Bill Signed Into Law

    Bill will help roofers with workers’ comp costs 
    Sacramento – Friday, May 26th, Assemblywoman Sharon Runner’s (R-Lancaster) legislation to address the rampant fraud in the roofing industry was signed into law by Governor Schwarzenegger.  The bill, AB 881, requires all C-39-licensed roofers in California to obtain Workers’ Compensation insurance policies.  The measure is joint authored by Assemblywoman Runner and Assemblyman Bill Emmerson (R – Redlands). 

    Dodgers win 12-5

    In a very special Memorial Day game, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves 12-5.  The Dodgers hit the ground running with a devastating of 4-0 lead in the first inning.  The Braves started a comeback in the 5th but the Dodgers squashed that scoring another 3 runs in the 9th.  Tune in to your Hometown Station AM1220 KHTS to cheer on your Los Angeles Dodgers.
