SCV Spring 2006 “Book Flood” Benefits Five Louisiana Schools

SCV Disaster Coalition members and contributors community-wide are gearing up for a massive book drive to re-stock the libraries at five flood-damaged elementary schools in Houma, Louisiana.

Hurricane Rita pounded the community of Houma, Although students are back in class, they still lack a number of key learning resources. Chief among them: library books.

Fire believed to have been started by plumbers working at duplex.

A two-family Canyon Country residence, located at 16719 Shinedale Drive, was destroyed Tuesday afternoon.  No one was injured in the blaze.
