Antonovich Announces New Online Fraud Reporting Website

The Los Angeles County Fraud Hotline, sponsored by Los Angeles County Mayor Michael D. Antonovich and managed by the Department of Auditor-Controller, is now available online at www.lacountyfraud.org
 
Since its inception in 1988 by Supervisor Antonovich, the Los Angeles County Fraud Hotline has been one of the most powerful fraud detection and prevention tools available to County management and has saved taxpayers roughly $16 million dollars.
 

Homeless Spending Plan Includes Housing For Illegal Aliens

Los Angeles County Mayor Michael D. Antonovich criticized the County’s proposed $80 million homelessness spending plan for providing housing for illegal aliens who are not eligible to receive public assistance from the County’s Department of Public Social Services. In addition, Antonovich said that the proposal fails to provide sufficient mental health services to effectively address the root cause of homelessness or require community input or approval -- even though all of the County’s 88 cities and 134 unincorporated areas would be affected.

Dodgers lose 11-10

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost 11-10 to the Atlanta Braves in their season opener today.  The Dodgers started a come back in the 9th inning scoring two runs but fell short of tying the game.  Tune in tomorrow at 6:30pm for more exciting Los Angeles Dodgers baseball.

I-5 at Templin Hwy – One Southbound Lane Closed Today Due to Storm Related Damag

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans)  announces that one lane of the southbound Golden State Freeway (I-5) at Templin Highway will be closed this afternoon -- at approximately 3 p.m. --  in order perform additional striping and repairs due to storm-related pavement damage.  Templin Highway is located approximately five miles north of Castaic along the southern portion of the Grapevine.
 

Kulingtang: Music from the Philippines – April 8th

On April 8th, from 3 PM to 4 PM at the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library, there will be a performance from the World Kulintang Institute. The Institute is dedicated to the preservation, education and presentation of the rare, centuries old traditional gong/drum ensemble music from the Southern Philippines. A unique experience for the whole family.
