Overnight Lane Closures for I-5 Carpool Lane Construction 4/7 – 4/8

Caltrans will close the following lanes of the Golden State Freeway (I-5), as part of a $41.6-million project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle, (HOV), or carpool lanes, on northbound and southbound I-5 from State Route 118 to State Route 14:
 
OVERNIGHT FRIDAY, APRIL 7 TO SATURAY MORNING, APRIL 8:
 
·     6 p.m. to 11 a.m. – Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 from State Route 14 to Balboa Boulevard
·     6 p.m. to 11:59 a.m. – The southbound I-5 off-ramp to Paxton Street

Hart OKs Half of Diversity Ideas

One ad hoc committee member says district should've adopted all of the group's recommendations.

The Hart district school board voted unanimously Wednesday to adopt less than half of the recommendations made by its diversity committee, prompting one of its members to express disappointment.

Good Morning SCV Networking Breakfast April 12th

Runner's Bill To Close Loopholes That Reward Drug- Offending Teachers Is Passes

(SACRAMENTO) --- Senator George Runner’s (R-Antelope Valley) legislation to protect schools and taxpayers from drug offenders who are taking advantage of loopholes in California law passed the Senate Education Committee yesterday over the objections of two teachers’ unions.

Student-Written and -Performed New Works , April 6th through 9th

A combined student effort involving writing, acting and set design culminates once again in the critically-acclaimed New Works Festival kicking off Friday, April 7 at 8 pm in the Black Box Theater at the College of the Canyons Performing Arts Center. A joint effort between the College of the Canyons Theater and English Departments, this season will also feature set and lighting designs arranged by students. The series of plays continues to feature student-written works and wholly student casts.
