Dodgers Lose 6-5

The Dodgers blew a 5-0 lead in the ninth inning on Sunday, as the Padres tied the game and won it 6-5 in the tenth. You can hear more Dodgers baseball on KHTS, Monday at 6:00pm, when they will open up a two game set with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Runner's Bill To Close Loopholes That Reward Drug-Offending Teachers Passes Stat

Sponsored by the Palmdale School District and the County Office of Education
After a Senate floor debate, Senator George Runner’s (R-Antelope Valley) legislation passed the State Senate yesterday with a 26-2 vote.  The legislation will protect schools and taxpayers from drug offenders who are taking advantage of loopholes in California law and ensure that school employees who are caught abusing illegal drugs and sent to a drug diversion program do not receive back-pay and benefits. 

International Film Festival Set for 2006

The International Family Film Festival is celebrating its twelfth year at the Regal/Edwards Cinemas on Town Center Drive September 22 – September 30, 2006. According to Chris Shoemaker, IFFF Executive Director, “This is a special year for the festival. Not only is it our twelfth year in the Santa Clarita Valley but it is the 100th anniversary of Fritz Frelong, the Father of Warner Bros. animation and the namesake of our Lifetime Achievement Award, The Fritz. There are lots of thrills and surprises planned for the festival.

Dodgers win 4-2

The Los Angles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres 4-2 tonight.  The Dodgers scored early, only to have to the Padres take a tentative lead.  Luckily the Dodgers rebounded later in the game to come out with the win.  Tune in tomorrow at 12:30pm to your Hometown Station AM1220 KHTS for more exciting Los Angeles Dodgers baseball. 

Violence Erupts at Hart High School

Fighting among students prompted a lockdown of Hart High School during lunch hour Friday, as several groups of students refused to heed the school administration's call to return to class. The incident, which was the subject of campus rumors in the morning, came to a head during lunch in the quad area of Hart High School. While most students headed back to class when prompted, a group of approximately 75 students did not, and some fighting broke out among those students. Sheriff officials were called to the scene and order was quickly restored.
