Lockheed Players Honored

On Monday December 19th, local sports players from throughout the Santa Clarita Valley were recognized at a Luncheon for the Lockheed Players of the Week. Each player was by Lockheed and on AM-1220 KHTS. Additionally, Lockheed made donations in the amount of $250 to the booster clubs of each player's team. Congratulations to all the players on their fantastic seasons!

Kings win 4-3

In an amazing game, the Los Angeles Kings beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-3.  The Canucks took an early lead but the Kings tied the game to go into overtime.  Neither team scored in overtime leading to the infamous hockey shoot-out.  Alexander Frolov scored the only goal in the shoot out giving the Kings the win 4-3.  Tune in Friday the 23rd at 5:30pm to your hometown Station AM 1220 KHTS for more amazing Los Angeles Kings hockey.

SBC Classic Announces Name Change to AT&T Classic

It's the same game with a different name. The SBC Classic golf tournament will now be named the AT&T Classic as sponsor SBC Communications takes on the name of AT&T Inc. after purchasing the former parent company, according to Brian Fitzgerald, executive director.

NCWD Approves Water Service for Northlake

Directors vote 4-1 to allow the deal, despite an outdated environmental impact report. The Newhall County Water District on Thursday approved the water service application & agreement for the 3,900-home Northlake development, a project that's set to cover the northern side of Castaic Lake.  Get the facts in Monday's Signal.

COCs First Winter Session Expects 3,000

D.U.I. Checkpoint

The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station conducted a D.U.I. sobriety checkpoint Friday evening.

It got underway at 7 p.m. & concluded at 3 a.m. Saturday morning, on the westbound Lyons Avenue, west of Avenida Dorena.  There were a total of 1,036 vehicles that passed through the checkpoint with 1,036 screened. 

Of that number, 23 vehicles were pulled off the line where the drivers received further testing.  None of these drivers were arrested for D.U.I. at the checkpoint.
