County Grants to Help DNA Lab

Supervisors unanimously approved two grants totaling about $835,000 on Tuesday that will help the sheriff's department expedite the processing of DNA cases for investigations & reduce its backlog.The crime lab of the L. A. County Sheriff's Department, officially known as the Scientific Services Bureau, handles its DNA casework, mapping out the DNA of bodily fluids left at crime scenes.  The entire story's featured in Wednesday's Signal.

SACRAMENTO --- Senator George Runner (R- Antelope Valley) has been appointed to serve on the Senate Select Committee on California’s Master Plan for Education which was recently announced. “I hope that this committee can set aside protecting the status quo and really look investigates the best to better equip our schools with the tools and flexibility to do what they do best – teach children core subjects,” said Senator Runner.

Suspect Wanted in Saugus Gas Station Holdup

Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry Announces Outreach Program to Acton/Agua Dulce

The Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry is delighted to announce a food distribution site for qualified families in the Action/Agua Dulce area.   Beginning Thursday, November 10, 2005, the SCV Food Pantry will distribute food to our Acton/Agua Dulce neighbors in need on the second Thursday of each month.  The food will be distributed from the Acton Presbyterian Church at 32142 North Crown Valley Road from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.
