    Trustees Approve COC Budget

    Funds for additional faculty, new and expanded programs and services, an online degree program, a comprehensive winter intersession, 15 major construction and renovation projects, and room for more students are all in the works for College of the
    Canyons this year, under the Santa Clarita Community College District's 2005-2006 budget, approved by the board of trustees during its budget meeting Wednesday night.

    City Hold Community Services Grant Information Meeting

    Anyone interested in applying for a Community Services Grant through the City of Santa Clarita is invited to attend an informational meeting being held Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at noon in the City of Santa Clarita Council Chambers. A brown bag lunch with drinks and snacks will be provided for those in attendance.
     
    The Community Services Grants are intended for the development of pilot programs or one-time project enhancements for non-profit community based organization.

    The City of Santa Clarita’s Community Services Office would like to invite everyone out to their annual Parent U Conference Saturday, October 8 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.  The theme for this year’s conference is “Building Blocks for Strong and Healthy Families.”
     

    City Hold Final Farmers’ Market of the Season

    The City of Santa Clarita invites everyone out to the final Old Town Newhall Farmers’ Market for the 2005 season on Thursday, September 22.  The Old Town Newhall Farmers’ Market is held every Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the corner of San Fernando Road and 6th Streets.  This final market will mark the end of a successful 2005 season of fresh produce, handmade crafts, and live entertainment.  The City will reopen the market in the spring of 2006.
