    Dodgers Beat Pirates 4-3!

    On Friday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers held off the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-3, in game one of a four game series.  College of the Canyons football will preempt the game tomorrow night, but be sure to tune into your Hometown Station, AM-1220 KHTS, on Sunday at 12:30 for game three of the series.

     

     

    Arts Commission Grant Applications

    The Los Angeles County Arts Commission's Organizational Grant Program (OGP) is now welcoming applications for its 2006-07 grant program, announced Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich. 
     
    The Organizational Grant Program provides grants to approximately 200 regional nonprofit arts organizations to create visual and performing arts projects, strengthen infrastructure, and provide access to the arts for children and adults.  Complete guidelines, instructions, application forms, and lists of past grantees are available at

    A rocket carrying a military research satellite blasted off Thursday, from Vandenberg Air Force Base, dazzling spectators from California to Arizona with a rainbow of colors as it streaked across the sky at dusk...

    The Minotaur rocket carrying a DARPA payload launched into orbit at 7:24pm.

    Car Hits Bicyclists in Collision

    Two men are hospitalized after Thursday morning's crash.

    Two Saugus bicyclists were injured, one seriously, when they were rear-ended by a car on San Fernando Road early Thursday morning, according to officials.

    Castaic Residents Say No to Shelter

    County officials unable to ease safety concerns about housing the homeless at detention center...

    Asked whether they thought a nearby jail is a good location for a homeless shelter, about 100 Castaic residents overwhelmingly said: "No."

    Dodgers Lose to Diamondbacks 7-4

    The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-4 in 12 innings.  Alex
    Cintron hit a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 12th to win the game.  The next Dodger
    game on KHTS AM-1220 will be the Dodgers facing the Pirates in the 3rd game  of a
    4 game series at 12:30pm on Sunday.

    4.7 Earthquake Felt In Santa Clarita

    A small earthquake centered south of Bakersfield registered a preliminary magnitude of 4.7 on the Richter Scale, and was felt throughout Santa Clarita.

    The quake's epicenter is closest to a town called Mettler, which is about 20 miles south of Bakersfield. No reports of damage or injuries so far, but the quake was felt throughout the Santa Clarita area.

    KHTS will continue to provide updates on this quake with new information as we receive it.
