Southern California Edison set record demand on Thursday, supplying about 21,800 megawatts, which surpassed the previous record of 21,112 megawatts set Wednesday. A megawatt is enough power to serve about 750 average homes.

The Newhall Land and Farming Co. says that the label of the Santa Clara River being one of "America's most endangered rivers of 2005" is wrong....

Spokespeople from Newhall Land claim that the environmental group making this claim has not met with them....  The declaration implies that Newhall Land is not concerned with the environment, while Newhall Land officials claim that with new developments, such as the recently proposed one on Newhall Ranch, take the environment into careful consideration.

In a move designed to keep liquor out of the hands of Santa Clarita's minors, the city has received an $80,000 grant from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, or ABC...

The grant's intended to help local agencies limit the availability of alcohol to minors, reduce alcohol-related disturbances & crimes, & ensure local establishments comply with alcohol laws.
