    City May Get $700,000 for Road Repairs

    About $700,000 in road-repair funds will come to the city of Santa Clarita under a plan from Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to restore Proposition 42 funds that were cut back in January, officials said Friday.
        The $700,000 — which the city could spend at its discretion as long is it’s used for road maintenance — would be Santa Clarita’s chunk of some $127 million freed up statewide.

        Parents rejoice! The City of Santa Clarita's Camp Clarita is opening doors once again to children ages 3 to 14. As summer approaches, it is time for parents to start thinking of ways to keep the kids busy while they aren't in school.


        Camp Clarita is a day camp, offering classes and outings for youth in pre-school to ninth grade. Kids in the program can make friends and develop their skills while they enjoy their summer vacation.

        The City of Santa Clarita Tourism Bureau has released its 2004 Tourism Year End Report, and the numbers once again are promising for the local economy!


        Transient occupancy tax collections, or taxes collected from visitors who stay in hotels and motels in the City of Santa Clarita, are up for the sixth straight year, and total over $1.5 million. The number of visitors to Santa Clarita was also strong in 2004, with over 57,000 people reportedly visiting the City's tourism website.
