Another Victory for the Dodgers!

The Los Angeles Dodgers earned yet another victory as they defeated the San Diego Padres 3-1 in extra innings! You can catch the next game live on KHTS this Thurs, April 21st at 6:30 pm!

Arroyo Seco Parents Concerned

Arroyo Seco Junior High is expected to reduce both the student body population as well as cut extra classes.  The school's principal has said there will not be a final decision for about a month, but did say that there will be some changes.  The number of students will drop from 1,550 to 1,200. Dodgers Come From Behind, Win 8-6

Another remarkable game for the Los Angeles Dodgers! After being down 6-0 late in the game, they come from behind to win it, 8-6. The Dodgers have won 7 straight, and fly to San Diego to take on the Padres Wednesday night in a game you can hear on KHTS at 6:30pm.

White smoke came out of the chimney of the Sistine Chapel signaling the election of a new pope.  Cardinal Ratzinger of Germany elected Pope Benedict XVI.

Sex Offender Continues Legal Battle

David Wood, of Valencia, claims he is "not a violent person," yet because of his no contest plea in s 2003 child molestation case, L.A. County Supervisor Mike Antonovich is calling for Wood's removal from the federally funded, county-administered complex he lives in....

Woods lives in the Orchard Arms apartment complex which is right across the street from an elementary school. 

The push to rid Woods of the apartment complex began when apartment residents saw his picture on the Megan's Law Web site, which lists registered sex offenders.

Dodgers Win Again!

The Los Angeles Dodgers continue their winning ways, running their record to 10-2 with another win Monday evening against the Milwaukee Brewers. The final score was 7 to 3. The Dodgers are back in action tomorrow morning at 9:30am right here on AM-1220, KHTS!

Full Freeway Closures Scheduled for Bridge Maintenance

LOS ANGELES COUNTY- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans)
will close various northbound and southbound lanes and overcrossings
(bridges over the freeway) of the Golden State Freeway (I-5), nightly,
Monday, April 18 through Sunday, April 24, weather permitting, to perform
bridge maintenance work. The closure schedule is as follows:Northbound I-5: Nightly, April 18 through April 24, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
·     Olive Avenue/Verdugo Avenue off-ramp.(Burbank)
·     Northbound I-5 connector to westbound Simi Valley Freeway (SR-118).

Assistance League Has Success with Run

The Assistance League's 15th Annual Footsteps 5K and 1K Kids Run took place Sunday morning at Newhall Park....

The organization raised over $20,000 which will go to a league program known as Operation School Bell.
