Agua Dulce Airpark Future Unknown

Over the past few months, Los Angeles county officials have been examining violations at the airfield as well as plans to expand the park and how it would affect the town of Agua Dulce.


 

The county permit for the Agua Dulce field dates back to 1959.  The County Planning Commission is preparing reasons to revoke the park's special use permit, after several residents have complained of reckless flying practices.

L.A. COUNTY ANIMAL CARE & CONTROL PRESENTS ANNUAL LOW-COST VACCINATION CLINIC

In an effort to keep local area pets healthy, the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control is offering low-cost vaccinations at its annual Vaccination Clinic.


The clinic will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at the Santa Clarita Park located at 27265 Seco Canyon Rd. The clinic will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

City of Santa Clarita Celebrates 16th Annual Arbor Day Festivities

The City of Santa Clarita, Urban Forestry Division, is proud to present the 16th Annual Arbor Day Celebration!

The festivities will be held Saturday March 19, 2005 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at Bridgeport Park, located at 23520 Bridgeport Lane, in Valencia. Bridgeport Park is adjacent to Newhall Ranch Road, between Bouquet Canyon Road and McBean Parkway. There is no admission fee.

Head-On Crash Kills One

At 7:41 p.m. Tuesday, a GMC van and a Ford Expedition collided, killing one man and injuring a woman and a little girl....

The crash occurred in Saugus on Plum Canyon Road near Heller Circle.  Westbound lanes of Plum Canyon Road were closed for hours during the investigation.

Judge Says Gay Marraige Ban Unconstitutional

A judge ruled Monday that California's ban on gay marraige is unconstitutional....

If upheld, this decision would cause the most populous state to follow Massachusetts lead in allowing same-sex couples to get married.

Santa Ana Winds Blow Through the SCV

The winds which gusted as high as 50 mph Monday are expected to die off today by 2 p.m....

Usually, the Santa Ana condition (or originally "Santana," the "devil wind"), occurs when the winds come from the northeast, commonly between October and March, and not necessarily when the weather is hot.  Legend says the hot, dry winds are associated with homicides and earthquakes.

Four Arrested For Theft

At about 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, Sheriff's Deputies pulled behind a vehicle in Valencia at Via Macarena at Rotunda.  Deputies found burglary tools on the driver's lap....

The four occupants of the car, 3 male adults and 1 female juvenile, were arrested and booked for grand theft and possession of stolen property.
