Driver Trying to Elude CHP Found in Steinmart..

California Highway Patrol officers found a woman hiding in a circular clothing rack after she fled an officer who had tried to pull her over for speeding Friday.She additionally faces drug charges, a highway patrol sergeant said.

The 34 year old woman was reportedly speeding at about 65 mph in Stevenson Ranch when a motorcycle officer spotted her and tried to pull her over. The officer drove into a shopping center at the corner of The Old Road and Pico Canyon Road as the woman leaped from her car and ran into a Steinmart store.

Food Pantry Needs More Donations

The holidays are looking bright for the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry, but looking ahead, the Pantry could always use more donations....

The most immediate need is for 18-ounce jars of peanut butter, accoriding to executive director Belinda Crawford.

Crawford urges the public to donate now because the Pantry will close on December 20th through Christmas and New Year's.

Voluntary Drug Testing Offered to Teens

A voluntary program launched Monday privately and randomly tests teenagers for drugs, discouraging kids from succumbing to peer pressure....

ACTION, a local group spearheaded by KHTS's Stephanie Weiss, will donate urine testing and optional follow-up services if the drug test comes back positive.  The idea is the brainchild of City Councilman and Assistant Saugus High VP Frank Ferry.

In the program, kids who don't take drugs can say, "Dad tests my urine."
