Rain Aftermath Yields Broken Records

After getting hit by two major storms in 10 days, Santa Clarita is far ahead of rainfall normal totals....

Officials with the National Weather Service say that so far this season (which started in July), the Los Angeles area is experiencing the rainiest season since 1889.  In that year, the recorded rainfall just for October was 7 inches.  This year's total is at 4 1/2 inches for the Los Angeles area.  The Saugus weather station has recorded 3.65 inches this month.

October rainfall in Santa Clarita usually averages about half an inch.
