Antonovich To Ride Inaugural Flyer Run To Palmdale

Bus route designed to relieve traffic at LAX, provide international link with San Francisco.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich will join local officials and members of the San Fernando, Santa Clarita, and Antelope Valley community April 2 on the inaugural ride of the new Palmdale Flyer Express Bus, from the Via Princessa Metrolink Station in Santa Clarita to the Palmdale Airport.  The new service aims to provide travelers with a convenient, reliable and inexpensive alternative to commuting to LAX.

Fashioned after the successful LAX “FlyAway” service administered by Los Angeles World Airports, the Palmdale Flyer will connect LA /Palmdale Airport (PMD) with the Via Princessa Metrolink Station at 19201 Via Princessa in Santa Clarita, and the Van Nuys FlyAway Bus Terminal at 7610 Woodley Avenue. United Airlines currently connects PMD to San Francisco International Airport, an international hub – on twice daily flights.

Busses will leave the Via Princessa Station for Palmdale Airport daily (except Sunday) at 4:25 a.m. and daily at 9:25 a.m.; return rides will leave Palmdale daily at 10:55 a.m. and daily (except Sunday) at 10:05 p.m., returning to the Via Princessa station on Weyerhauser Way. Ticketed passengers ride free; others pay $5 for one-way trips.

To help promote the new service, the two roundtrip tickets from Palmdale Airport to San Francisco InternationalAirport for April 2 will be awarded to the winners of the KHTS AM 1220’s radio contest.  For more information visit http://www.hometownstation.com.
