Alleged Forger Arrested For Theft From Seniors
Parole violator victimized neighbors at assisted living complex where his mother was a resident.
A parolee from Valencia was charged Tuesday with five felony counts of identity theft, one felony count of commercial burglary and one felony count of receiving stolen property on behalf of victims at the Fountain Glen at Valencia Senior Apartments.
Mohsen Moaddab, 43, was arrested Friday following a four-week investigation in several incidents of identity theft and forgery. After searching an apartment in the 23900 block of Decoro Drive, detectives recovered information linking Moaddab to crimes involving at least seven different victims and the theft of identity-related profile information belonging to many others.
Moaddab is suspected of stealing the information from the residents at the Fountain Glen complex, where he resides and allegedly provides assisted living care for his mother. He accessed the financial accounts of some victims, passed fraudulent checks and was in possession of financial information of other potential victims that had not yet been used.
With his previous conviction for identity theft, Moaddab’s activities are a violation of his probation and he is being held without bail at Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles.
